KEYS TO FLEXIBLE LEADERSHIP
Mountain View, CA -- Sept. 19, 2005--

Today’s complex business challenges demand versatile leaders who have more than one style of leadership in their repertoire. For every unique business situation calling for a leader, there is an appropriate approach for that leader to take. In 5-D LEADERSHIP: KEY DIMENSIONS FOR LEADING IN THE REAL WORLD (Davies-Black Publishing; October 2005; U.S.$27.95, CAN $34.95; cloth; ISBN 1-89106-197-50), authors Scott Campbell and Ellen Samiec refute the premise that there is only one right way to lead effectively, providing examples ranging from Rudy Giuliani to Sir Earnest Shackleton.

The authors introduce their 5 Leadership Dimensions—Commanding, Visioning, Enrolling, Relating, and Coaching—and provide definitions, examples, and the strategic objectives of each. Following chapters detail the concrete actions necessary to acquire each Leadership Dimension, as well as how to capitalize on the strengths you already have especially when applying those strengths to learning all five leadership styles.

5-D LEADERSHIP offers a wealth of self-assessment (see attached) and planning tools to help current and aspiring leaders discover their dominant leadership dimension, identify and leverage their strengths, and apply their skills and talents to lead effectively in any situation they face.
